The Poem States "We are the Sons of America, Guardians of her Constitution, Protectors of her way of life, Warriors of the preservation of freedom. We are the Sons of America, Sons of the Continental Army Sons of the Federal Union and Confederacy, Sons of the Mexican War. We are the Sons of America, The patriots and braves, Standing united and trusting in God We are the United States Armed Forces. We are the Sons of America, The World War I Veterans, The World War II Veterans, The Korean and Viet Nam Veterans. We are the Sons of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion American GI Forum. The Catholic War Veterans. We are the Sons of America, Whenever our country calls us to arms, We will answer her call, Wherever the war may be in her defense. I am a Son of America, In the ranks firmly I stand, Like soldiers that stood before me, Who now rest in peace." Inscribed at the bottom of the paper is "08-08-82 Presented as a token of friendship to Mr. Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America.
