Physical DescriptionA white iridescent glazed ceramic elephant with an upturned trunk mounted to a ceramic base. Along the edge of the base is an inscription reading "To - Ronald W. Reagan 40th President of United States From - The Long Beach Island Republican Club" in black ink. A second inscription on the bottom of the base reads "Made by Hazel C. Guetherman from Inlet Ceramic Shop BEACH HAVEN, NEW JERSEY" in black ink along with "H.C.G 12-80," which is imprinted into the ceramic.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
