Physical DescriptionA metal plaque with wood backing. In the top left corner of the plaque is the outline of the state of Illinois, and inside the outline is a football. The text to the right of the outline reads "Illinois High School Football Coaches Association." The plaque states, "Hall of Fame, Ronald Reagan, is recognized for his ability to inspire his athletes to the highest in discipline and spirit. His professionalism has shown in his dedication to the game, school, and community. May 2, 1981" with two facsimile signatures. On the back of the plaque is a paper label stating "distinctive plaques crafted on copper & zinc from G.R. Grubb & Co. 116 N. Walnut Champaign, Illinois 61820."Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
