Physical DescriptionA political cartoon in gray mat and black and silver frame by Don Wright. A man in a white shirt lettered “WHITE HOUSE PRESS CORPS” and slacks, wearing a dunce cap, is standing in front of a blackboard with chalk in his hand. He is writing over and over, "I will raise my hand and wait to be recognized. I will not jump up and shout at the President." The cartoon is lettered “—TO PRESIDENT REAGAN Don Wright © 1981 MIAMI NEWS” in the lower right corner. The back has a hanging wire and is covered with brown backing paper. There is a brass plaque lettered “WHITE HOUSE PRESS CORPS AUGUST 1988” in a plastic bag attached to the back. There is a sticker lettered “Custom Framing From The White House Glen W. Carr---- G.S.A.” on the bottom center.
Historical NoteDuring the Reagan administration, the cartoon was on display in the White House Billiard Room.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and was on display in the White House until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
