Physical DescriptionA poster for the 25th anniversary season of the Joffrey Ballet depicts a ballet dancer's leg in a pink skirt en pointe. The poster is inscribed "TO MRS. RONALD REAGAN, YOUR PRESENCE IS ALWAYS AN INSPIRATION FOR US, WARMST REGARDS ROBERT JOFFERY OCTOBER 21, 1981, GERALD ARPINO."
Historical NoteNancy Reagan was the honorary chairman of the Joffrey Ballet's 25th anniversary national committee. The Joffrey Ballet was founded by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino as a touring company in 1956.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
