The ad reads, "The neatest Christmas gift of all says Ronald Reagan" above four small images of Reagan, "The new revolutionary collar on Van Heusen century shirts won't wrinkle…ever!" written alongside a large image of Reagan.Historical NoteWhen Ronald Reagan was an actor, he was featured in a series of advertisements for Van Heusen dress shirts in the 1950s and 1960s. He also appeared in campaigns for RC Cola, Chesterfield Cigarettes, and cigars. Andy Warhol even used some of the Van Heusen ad images in one of his print series.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
