Physical DescriptionA silver-plated tray displayed on a black wood stand with an inlaid glass-like design of a two-headed eagle/snake curled in the center. The reverse side of the tray is stamped with “Pluma Azteca” on two silver disks on the bottom left and right side.
Historical NoteThis silver plaque has an eagle and serpent design, symbols of Mexico. It was given to Secretary of State Jim Baker during the conference in Cancun, Mexico, October 21, 1981.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official public to White House staffer James A. Baker III (Secretary of State) during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
