Physical DescriptionA bronze sculpture of a bearded turkey hunter wearing a fringed buckskin outfit and ammo pouch crouched behind a tree stump. He has a turkey caller in his hands, and his hat and rifle are on the ground beside him. The sculpture is etched “THE TURKEY HUNTER” on the front, on an oval polished wood base. Number 16.
Historical NoteEvette Wyatt cast this sculpture of The Turkey Hunter especially for President Reagan. He presented it in the Oval Office during Congressional Time on August 9, 1982. Wyatt was there with representatives of Asbury College who were giving President Reagan another Wyatt sculpture, one of Methodist Bishop and college namesake Francis Asbury (1745-1816).

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
