Physical DescriptionA watercolor painting of a green and white Marine One with a red bow on the nose. It is lettered "SEASON'S GREETINGS" in black below the helicopter. The painting is double-matted in white with a green inner border, and the white mat is lettered "Presented To President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan By Marine Helicopter Squadron One, Christmas 1982" in the bottom center. The picture is in a gold frame. The frame is backed in gray with picture wire. There is a brown and gold sticker lettered "Creative Custom Framing Fraber Gallery DIVISION OF CRAFT CORNER ASHDALE PLAZA 2918 DALE BLVD. (703) 670-5027 DALE CITY, VA. 22193" in the bottom center.
Historical NoteMaj Stephen G. Hornberger, USMC, won the 1982 contest to create the gift from Marine Helicopter Squadron One for President Ronald Reagan. Maj. Hornberger gave President Reagan the painting on Marine One while on a trip to California during the holiday season.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through to the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
