He is driving a forklift loaded with a seat with three female employees in black dresses. Boxes of GE Ranges are behind them. The back is stamped “KEN IVES STUDIO 1903 CAHABA ROAD ENGLISH VILLAGE BIRMINGHAM, ALA. 35223 1960.”Historical NoteWhile a spokesman for GE and host of the General Electric Theater (1954-1962), Reagan would travel to GE plants around the country, giving speeches and talking to employees. He later described it as his “postgraduate course in political science.”

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
