Physical DescriptionA bronze medallion (.01) with images of different Grumman aircraft on the front and text embossed on the back. The text on the back of the medallion states, "Since 1930, Grunmman has helped shape the course of manned flight, from biplanes to supersonic flight to lunar exploration. Grumman designed the first retractable landing gear of military aircraft, effective stow wing, variable sweep wing and the lunar module that landed astronauts on the moon. Grumman aircraft formed the nucleus of the carrier strike forces during World War II and continues to provide the U. S. Fleet effective tactical aircraft. " The medallion is set in a wooden stand (.02).

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
