Physical DescriptionA padauk and amaranth wooden hinged box with a lid. The lid has an inner silver rectangle and a silver “RR” in the lower left corner, which is made of dental amalgam. The inside of the box is unadorned.Historical NoteThe silver “RR” and trim on this wooden box are made of silver dental amalgam (silver color). It was handcrafted by the donor, who was a dentist.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
