Physical DescriptionA sculpture made out of nuts and bolts depicts a cameraman filming a cowboy riding an elephant. The cowboy has a saber in his left arm and is holding his right arm up for a bird. The base of the artwork is made out of driftwood and has an engraved small metal plaque attached to it. The elephant represents the Republican party, and the cowboy is meant to represent President Ronald Reagan in a movie scene from his Hollywood days. The artwork was created by Bill Westfall.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
