Physical DescriptionA ceramic commemorative plate titled "Cup of Elijah." The design is a colorful circular pattern with swirling Hebrew text around a city scene offset to the upper right of the plate. The inscription on the back of the plate states, "Cup of Elijah Plate 'behold, I will send you to Elijah the Prophet - Before the coming of the great and awesome day.' Malachi 3:24" Bellow this is an inscription in Hebrew both in blue. Also inscribed on the plate is a gold handwritten inscription stating, "To the President and Mrs. Ronald Reagan - with prayers for a complete recovery and many years of health and happiness. with admiration and affection - Michel Easter/Passover 1981. Special Artist Proof."Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
