Physical DescriptionThis hand-painted commemorative plate depicts a Kansas wheat field by Margie Watkins. In the wheat field, a combine harvester is being operated by a person in a blue outfit. The plate was made by Harmony House Fine China and is the Diana pattern. The back of the plate is inscribed "FROM CHARLOTTE ELDER MISS KANSAS UNITED TEENAGER 1981 NOT FOR TABLE USE ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING BY MARGIE WATKINS, TROY, KANSAS."
Historical NoteIt was given when the Miss United Teenagers group toured the White House on December 29, 1981.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
