The plaque features a photograph of a woman with long, wavy locks of hair. A gold sticker on the back with black text reads, "Graphicenter EAST WACKER CHICAGO, ILLINOIS TELEPHONE: 312-443-0001 TOLL FREE 1-800-621-1432."Historical NoteNancy Reagan was a two-time recipient of the Best Coiffured Women award, having been recognized previously in 1981. Other winners that year included Barbara Mandrell, Jacqueline Bisset, Joyce DeWitt, Linda Gray, Morgan Fairchild, Princess Diana, Nastassja Kinski, Beverly Johnson, and Rona Barrett.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
