Physical DescriptionA white ceramic teapot shaped as the head of President Ronald Reagan, based on the Spitting Image puppet of the President. A curved handle is attached to the back of his head, and the spout is his nose. The lid is the crown of his head. The teapot is etched “LUCK & FLAW © 1981” on the bottom.Historical NoteCaricaturists Roger Law and Peter Fluck, together as Fluck & Law, created the satirical TV puppet show Spitting Image, featuring puppet versions of world leaders. They designed this teapot in the shape of Ronald Reagan. The gifters were in England at the same time as the president's official visit in 1982, and purchased the teapot on their vacation for President Reagan.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
