Physical DescriptionA set of balance scales made of inlaid mahogany and poplar woods in a geometric design. Each side is hanging from a set of brass chains, and there is an eagle shaped finial on the top. On the back center is a small brass plaque lettered “ORWIGSBURG, PA.”
Historical NoteThe scales were sent to President Ronald reagan to help him "balance the budget."

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
