Physical DescriptionA brass rectangular belt buckle commemorating the gunfight at the OK Corral. The front of the buckle says, "Gunfight at the OK Corral 100th Anniversary." The buckle was designed by Douglas Hart and engraved on the back by Bobby Adams. The engraving on the back of the buckle states, "TO UNITED STATES OF AMERICA PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN FROM RA (BOBBY) ADAMS MEMBER OF TASK FORCE MARCH 31, 1982." Stamped into the back of the buckle is text stating, "Gunfight at the OK Corral October 26 1881 designed by Douglas Hart, The Historic Providence Mint © 1981."Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
