Physical DescriptionThis is a glass obelisk award for the "Woman Of Achievement Award" made by Baccarat. The obelisk is etched at the bottom center with "NANCY REAGAN WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, GIRLS CLUB OF NEW YORK 1984."Historical NoteIt was presented at the ceremony held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York, May 22, 1984, and the award was given to Nancy Reagan by John S. R. Shad, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
