Physical DescriptionAn original political cartoon of a cherub, wearing an American flag designe Uncle Sam top hat, shaking a finger as he walks towards the Ayatollah Khomeini, who is wearing a devil's costume with horns and a tail while riding a pitchfork, with the text "Back off, Khomeini!" in stars and stripes font. It is signed "William R. Asperger" behind the cherub's proper right foot. The verso has the gifter's contact information and a watermark for the Crecent Cardboard Company carboard the cartoon is mounted on.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
