Physical DescriptionA sculpture of a coal miner standing beside a pickax, shovel, box, and a piece of coal in the shape of West Virginia, all made of coal. On the bottom of the sculpture is a white piece of paper with Rep. Nick Rahall's signature.
Historical NoteThe sculpture is made of West Virginia coal. It was given when the Miss United Teenagers group toured the White House on December 28, 1983.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
