Physical DescriptionA postcard depicting a scene from Dixon, IL. The image is of the Nachusa House, a hotel in Dixon. It is a five story building with a tower, yellow on the first three and green on the top floor on the facade, with white columns and railings. The building on the back side is gray with green on the top floor. There are people in front and there is a red old-fashioned car parked on the street. A man is leaning against the building. There is an off-white border and the postcard is lettered in the upper left in black, “Nachusa Tavern, Dixon, Ill. The back is off-white lettered in green “Post Card ADDRESS” in the upper center, E.C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee.” along the left edge, “PLACE STAMP HERE DOMESTIC ONE CENT FOREIGN TWO CENTS E C H C9” in a green box in the upper right, and “No. 9240” in the lower right.Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
