Physical DescriptionA gold model of the Space Shuttle Columbia with silver windows, and American flags in red, white, and blue and “United States” in black on the sides and wings. It opens to reveal a Seiko chronograph alarm and two Chaumet quartz watches. The clock is on a gold stand and a black base with the royal crest of King Hassan II in gold on the top. There is a gold plaque on the front with a message engraved in Arabic and English.Historical NoteKing Hassan of Morocco visited the White House on May 19, 1982. He brought many gifts for both President Reagan and members of the staff.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
