Physical DescriptionA bronze horse sculpture by Augusto Cid. The horse is reclining with two legs up in the air and its neck craning back, looking towards its hindquarters. The sculpture is signed and numbered 1 of 12.Historical NoteThe sculpture was given when President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan visited Lisbon, Portugal May 5-8, 1985. President Reagan met with Prime Minister Mário Soares, addresed the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal, and attended a State Dinner. They also visited West Germany, Spain, and France during their trip to Europe.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
