Physical DescriptionA Wedgwood blue jasperware campana form urn and cover, with white classical figures and floral/botanicals in relief. The urn has two handles, a round bottom on a square base. The lid is raised in the center with a pointed finial.Historical NoteWedgewood created this blue jasperware vase with classical figures in relief, which was given to President Reagan by the then-Prince and Princess of Wales during a visit to England in 1982. He wrote to thank them saying, "The beautiful Wedgwood vase and photograph you gave us will serve as special reminders of another gift you have given us -- your friendship."Additional DetailsCustodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
