Physical DescriptionA metal belt buckle with a space for an inserted image. The front of the belt buckle is made of nickel silver and the back is stainless steel. The back of the belt buckle is engraved "Buddy's Buckle Milwaukee, Wis. Pat. Pending Stainless Steel." Included with the belt buckle are three picture inserts depicting animals. Currently displayed in the belt buckle is an image of a male and female wood duck swimming.Historical NoteThis is an engraved steel and nickel belt buckle with interchangeable inserts, known as a "buckle buddy." The current white insert shows a pair of ducks.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
