Physical DescriptionA postcard depicting a scene from Dixon, IL. The image looks overlooks a river with a tree in the foreground, and a canoe on the river. The postcard is lettered in black in the lower right “Dixon, Ill. Rock River Scenery, the beautiful Rock River, near Green Rock.”
The back is off-white lettered in green across the top “POST CARD MESSAGE MAY BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE. ADDRESS ONLY ON THIS SIDE.” There is an inverted green triangle lettered inside QUALITY” with intertwined “HCL” in white. In the upper right corner is a green box with a dotted line lettered “Place the Stamp Here ONE CENT for United States and Island Possessions Cuba, Canada, and Mexico. TWO CENTS For Foreign.” Along the left edge is lettered in green, “ THE HUGH C. LEIGHTON CO., MANUFACTURERS, PORTLAND, ME., U.S.A. 28844 MADE IN GERMANY.”

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a member of the general public to President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President Office of Correspondence and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
