Shintarō Abe (b. April 29, 1924, Tokyo, Japan - d. May 15, 1991, Tokyo, Japan) was a Japanese politician. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs: November 27, 1982 until July 22, 1986.

Abe obtained a law degree from Tokyo University in 1949 and began his career as a political reporter for Mainichi Shimbun, a leading Japanese national daily newspaper. He became a politician in 1957, when he started working as a legislative aide of his father-in-law, the then-prime minister Nobusuke Kishi. Abe served as Minister of International Trade and Industry in the cabinet of the then-prime minister Zenko Suzuki from November 30, 1981 until November 27, 1982 prior to serving as foreign minister in the administration of Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone from 1982 to 1986. In addition to serving as foreign minister and trade minister he had been secretary general of the party, the No. 2 position after prime minister. He was the father of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
