Universal Press Syndicate (UPS) distributed columns and comic strips. Well known columns included Dear Abby and Roger Ebert. They published Doonesbury, Cathy, For Better or For Worse, and Ziggy. They aquired the rights for content from the Washington Star Syndicate, which included Pat Oliphant's political cartoons.
