Physical DescriptionA porcelain figure of a rider in 18th-century dress on a white horse, with a tree trunk as a supporter and painted grass on the base. The rider is wearing a white shirt, a red hunting jacket with green trim, yellow breeches, black boots, a black hat with a green ribbon, and a powdered wig tied in a queue with a black ribbon. He has a whip in his right hand and the reins in his left. The horse has a green saddle and black bridle and reins. The bottom has a green Nymphenburg stamp.Historical NoteThe title of the sculpture is Rider at Trot, and it is from the series The Great Nymphenburg Hunt, by Nymphenburg Porcelain, c.1750. It was given to First Lady Nancy Reagan during the State Visit of Chancellor and Mrs. Kohl, November 15, 1982.

Custodial History NoteThe item was a gift from a foreign official to President Ronald Reagan during the Reagan administration. It was received through the Executive Office of the President and maintained there until its transfer to the National Archives in January, 1989 for deposit with the Reagan Presidential Library.
